Two sisters visit the local pool with different goals for the day. The oldest, Ina, uses the visit as a chance to elevate her status with her friend, while the young one, Marte, wants to jump of the 10 meter. Through the course of the film Ina has to take a stand as to what is important to her.
Synthbabe premiered in 2022 at TIFF (Tromsø International Film Festival). This was the first project I received funding from the Norwegian Film Institute and also the largest budget film I directed so far.
Talking about the making of Synthbabe I have to mention the team, which was one of the most amazing teams I ever worked with. I'm very grateful I got to share an intense week with them and that I got to work with such a talented young cast.

For context; this scene occurs when Ina is alone with her friend Janne in the spa section of the local pool. Both the girls have left their younger sisters to hang out with each other while they catch up on the latest gossip.
