Body of work
I was born in 1992 in Sweden and moved to Northern Norway in my youth. It’s safe to say dramatic landscapes and close-knit communities have greatly influenced my storytelling. My journey into filmmaking began young; I grew up captivated by films and quickly felt drawn to creating my own. My years as a member of the Tvibit environment in Tromsø, an inspiring youth filmmaker community, gave me a grounding in both creativity and collaboration. I also spent years working at the local cinema, where I watched countless films, met fellow film lovers, and deepened my understanding of what moves audiences.
My formal education began with a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology, combined with Film and TV studies from UiT and NISS Høyskole AS, completed in 2019. This unique blend of fields has profoundly shaped my approach to storytelling—I aim to explore what’s underneath the surface, connecting deeply with culture, character psychology and motivations.
In 2017, I made my official directorial debut with The Factory, a short film about a man and a robot whose monotonous workday is transformed by an unexpected, musical twist. This film premiered at Dragon Con in Atlanta, USA, and won the debutant award at TIFF (Tromsø International Film Festival) in 2018, a moment that truly felt like the start of something special. Following that, TIDE (2018) told the story of a man’s journey to win back his family by building a time machine. This project brought me my second award for Best Script from the Alaskan International Film Awards, an acknowledgment of my commitment to creating layered, emotionally resonant stories.
My next film, Poolboy (2019), screened at the Norwegian Short Film Festival and opened NUFF (Nordic Youth Film Festival). This piece explores themes of boundaries and intention through the story of a lifeguard and a determined visitor who has motives beyond a simple swim. Shortly after Poolboy, I decided to make the leap into full-time freelancing. Since 2019, I’ve had the privilege to immerse myself in the Northern Norwegian film industry, working on projects such as Puckers (2020, NRK), Klar til Strid (2023, NRK), and ManCave (2024, NRK).
The pandemic brought challenges, but it didn’t hold me back. Synthbabe, a story about two sisters whose differing priorities reveal their tensions, premiered in 2022 at TIFF. And in 2024, I made my debut in series direction with the episode Hundeføreren in the documentary series Brennende Hjerter, which streams on Altibox. My latest project, Orbit (Varv), is a new short film ready to launch into the festival circuit, marking yet another chapter in my journey as a storyteller.
Balancing my own projects with editing work for others, I’m continually expanding my skills, most recently diving into animation. I find that each project brings fresh challenges, inviting me to explore new ways of connecting with audiences. Through my work, I strive to create worlds where the unsaid speaks loudly, and where stories linger with viewers long after the screen goes dark.
