About Margareta F.A. Orkan
I’m Margareta F. A. Orkan, a filmmaker based in Northern Norway who brings together a background in social anthropology and film to create stories. I began my journey into filmmaking at a young age, and my official debut, The Factory (2017), premiered at Dragon Con and earned me the debutant award at TIFF. Each of my projects reflects my focus on character-driven narratives and meaningful visuals. My passion lies in directing, writing, and editing, and I strive to make every story I tell feel both personal and universal.
Projects
Here you’ll find a glimpse of a creative world that explores nuanced storytelling, where the unspoken is as powerful as the dialogue. With a focus on both subtlety and impact, my work strives to leave a lasting impression that lingers beyond the screen.
Current projects
I'm currently in production on a documentary series called Brennende Hjerter by Altibox. It's a show about people who volunteer and help their community in different ways.
My latest project Varv (Orbit) is also finished and ready to start it's festival life. You can read more about it on the Varv-page.
I'm also in development of two new projects, one documentary and one narrative animation.
